Is there a way to populate a list of data from excel to word?

Hi,

I have a list of data which can range from 1-500 numbers (vertical) and i'm
wondering if theres a way or a macro that will allow me to convert that list
to a word file but instead of it being veritcal it converts it to a
horizontal list, with the data in cells left to right?

Thanks

Hi Phil,

You could use a Copy & Edit|Paste Special|Transpose operation in Excel, then copy & paste the transposed data to Word.

However, even with the widest practical page width, I doubt you could get 500 records on a single line in Word. What exactly are you
trying to achieve?

Do it in Excel first.

Copy, (click in another cell), Paste Special - Transpose

sorry i wasnt more clear, it doesnt have to be on one line, it can be 5 cells
or even 2 accross...

Sorry again, i dont know if i was clear again on my last post. if i have 20
feilds of data, id like it to go from one long list, to 4 cells across 5 rows
down.

Doesn't matter, I'd still suggest transposing it in Excel first.

Hi Phil,

If you need to do this on a regular basis, there's a simple formula you can use in Excel (based on the OFFSET function) to turn a
column (or row) of data into a multi-column table.
