Is there a way to revert ot the old toolbars in Office 2007?

I hate the new "Ribbon" on Office 2007. Is there any way to bring up the
toolbars I have on my other computer with older Office? If I had known about
this, I would not have purchased this product. Even if it worked as well as
the old toolbar (Which I don't believe it does), the look of it is just plain
annoying and carttonish. Is this a product made for adults and professionals,
or for 6-year olds who need bright blue colors and big words explaining
everything. Why is Microsoft insulting the intellegence of its users in this
way?

There are third-party add-ins that are available. Some are free, some are
not. The ribbon interface was widely advertised prior to the release and
does work once you get accustomed to it. I will agree with you in that it
looks childish but I do kind of like the larger text. My eyes aren't getting
any younger and it seems that most products are in competition to see who
can print the smallest text on their products.

(I'm sticking with the ribbon at home so that if/when my employer upgrades I
can hit the ground running while everyone else is tearing their hair out.

Hi Mary,

JoAnn has provided some information on 3rd party add-ins to emulate the older interface. If you use the keyboard shortcuts a lot,
many of them still work in Office 2007.

There are several types of was/is guides available from

If you'd prefer to use the old version and this is a retail copy of Microsoft Office you may be able to return it for a refund.
