Is there a way to share data bases, etc remotely, out of state?

I want to share access to data base and files with two people in different
states so any one of us can update the data base, etc. can this be done?

Easiest way is to create a Virtual Private Network using the Internet as a
carrier.

Find a local company who can supply, install and maintain it, it's way too
complex for a news group.
