File | Save As, give the file a new name. Delete the unwanted slides. Repeat

If you want to save each slide as a separate presentation, you can use
some ppt to flash tools, such as Articulate Presenter, and Wondershare
PPT2Flash Professional. after you install those software, launch PP,
open your presentation, and publish the presentation for web with
those tool. they will generate a folder, open the data folder in it,
each slide is converted as a solid swf file.

You should be fine with Echo's way but to avoid the slight chance of
overwriting the original you can also open a new file and use "insert slides
from files" to add the slides you want and then resave with a new name.
