Is there a way to sum rows in Project like Excel?

I'd like to make totals and subtotals in Project the same way as Excel in the
Gantt chart. Possible?

Gerard suggestion is the best way to create column totals in Project
however, you mentioned row totals in the title of your post. In Project
rows contain various task data (i.e. Duration, Start, Finish, etc.).
Normally those are not summed because they are completely different data
types. Are you perhaps wanting to sum up timescaled data rows such as is
seen in one of the Usage views? If so, then the summed row data may
already be summed up in the appropriate static value that appears on the
left side of the Usage view.

What exactly are you trying to sum up? Knowing your end goal will help
us come up with a better solution for you.

Thank you, Gerard, but this creates a new heirarchy in my groups. I just
want subtotals for each group without re-sorting.
