is there an "ask me" option for conflict resolution w/hotsync?

I'm currently running: Windows XP, Office 2003, hotsync v5.4.0

At one time, syncing gave the option of asking me what to do to resolve any
conflict it encountered while syncing. I cannot find this anywhere now. I
actively use both my handheld (treo650) and my desktop (outlook) depending
upon the circumstances. I find that if I delete something on one of them but
not the other, when I go to synchronize them, the deleted item gets
duplicated on the other machine and returned as before to the original
program.

Any help will be most appreciated.

Ask Palm as Hotsync is their application and would give the options for resolving conflicts, not Outlook.
