Is there any assignment field, AT ALL, in P2002 Pro

The Help function describes these fields as if they are as easy to find as the "task" and "resource" fields.. In my Tools-Customize-Fields I only find "task" and "resource" radio buttons for all the custom fields.

Assignments are created in Microsoft Project when you assign a resource to a
task. Assignments can then be seen in either the Task Usage or Resource
Usage views, which are formally known as assignment views. I like to
explain the concept of assignments to my students this way, "An assignment
is who does what when and how much on each task."

When you are creating custom fields in an enterprise environment, you can
create custom Task, Resource, and Project fields. In a standalone
environment, you can create custom Task and Resource fields. In neither
case can you create custom a Assignment field. Sorry.

Okay - so far so good :

I face the same problem as described earlier in this site, but with no solution
I have a local custom cost task field. I assign two resources to this task and I publish the field as an assignment type field to project server. If I enter a value in this field for one of the resources in pwa, submit and accept changes the value is displayed in the task row, not the assignment row, in my Project view (task usage view). If I enter another value in the other person's timesheet, submit and accept the changes, this value overwrites the other one on the task row. What am i doing wrong since the value doesn't stay with the assignment

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaase! Thank you again :)

Hi Thomas,

Are you looking for a custom field or do you want
assignment data on your project view?

Open Project Pro 2002 and select View->Resource sheet and
you will see an assignment field on the resource sheet.

If you are using a project task view, and want to see the
assignments, right click on any column header and
select "insert Column" then select assignment for the
field name.

Regards,

Tom Romeo
