Is there somewhere to set a "busy" or "available" status

Can you please clarify? Busy or available for what purpose? Do you mean
meetings in your calendar or something else entirely?

When you create an appointment, you can set the "Show time as" value to
"Free", "Busy", "Out of Office", or "Tentative". You you publish your
free/busy information, others may be able to see it and tell whether or not
you're busy. Exactly how or whether or not it will work is entirly
dependent on your account type and whether or not those others have access
to your free/busy server. Of course, you've included no detail in your
post, so that's as specific as I can get.
