Is this a copy of MS Office Professional full Retail or counterfei

I ordered Office Standard full retail from Softwarenedia.com and I received a
"free upgrade to Professional" flat pack. The pack says Launch 2007 Resource
Kit and has instructions to go to www.launchtour2007.com/download to download
the software. They say it is the full retail version of Office Professional
and has all the say features. You can change computers, upgrade in the
future, a MS key, and full MS support. Is this legit because it sure smells
fishy?

I can't be positive but that doesn't sound like a legal copy to me. I know
they were giving out copies at the Launch but you had to be there. And the
idea of a "free upgrade" makes it really suspicious.

I assume you've already handed them your credit card number?

The launch kits are full fledged versions of Office 2007 Professional
that Microsoft handed out (for free) to all attendees of the (free)
Office/Vista Launch Events. When you open the orange booklet, you should
have a license key on the inside.
However, I am pretty sure that selling/redistributing these kits is
illegal. So you have a legitimate copy that was purchased illegally.
It's up to you to decide what to do.
You can report this as software piracy to Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/piracy/Reporting.mspx
According to the MS FAQ on that page, your first step would be to
request a fully legitimate copy from the vendor or return it for a
refund: http://www.microsoft.com/piracy/Reporting_FAQ.mspx
