Is this the same as the "Microsoft Project, Server" newsgroup?

I had been using a newsgroup that I thought was labeled something like
"Microsoft Project, Server". It appears the newsgroup site has changed. Is
this essentially the same group?

Hi Jo,

No - a list of newsgroups for Project is here: FAQ Item: 24. Project
Newsgroups. FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information
can be seen at this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/.

Yes, this is the newsgroup dedicated to Microsoft Project Server 2002 and
2003. Welcome!

Where is the other group, then? I had it bookmarked, but today I can't find
the newsgroup I had been using. It looks like the site has been revamped?

Jo

The FAQ indicates that I should use
microsoft.public.project.server
which includes posts previously posted to
microsoft.public.project.pro_and_server and
microsoft.public.standard_and_server
So why is it that now I can only see the latter two, and not the first one?
That FAQ seems to say that the "project.pro_and_server" newsgroup and the
"project.standard_and_server" newsgroup, are supposed to be unused now, in
favor of the "project.server" group. I was looking for "project.server",
which is what the FAQ points me to. Where can I find it? I'm trying to
navigate through the options at
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx like the FAQ says, but
I'm confused...

Thanks

Hi Jo,

I can only answer for Outlook Express for reading newsgroups. You just need
to click on msnews.microft.com then Newsgroups and search for project and
subscribe.

Mike:

Seriously, do you really think that's going to happen any time soon? The
Project Central list is getting 6 posts a month and it's still alive.<g>
This group continues to get more traffic than the new one. If you were
running the show, that would be a different story.

If they want to close this one down and have people use the other one, maybe
they would have more success if they made the other one available on
support.microsoft.com/newsgroups instead of this one...

Seriously, Gary, I don't believe it will ever close whilst Microsoft allows
people to post to it! Suddenly (MS know when!) it'll disappear. :)
