ISPs and hosting Publisher-made websites

Laurie F.

I've just discovered the Web functions of Publisher, and am very interested
in pursuing this to make routine changes myself. But I've been told by a
computer geek that not all ISP hosts support Publisher-made websites - and
that iPowerWeb.com is one of the few. How true is this? (or is he getting
referral $?!) What should I be asking my current host before I change to
another? I've got Pub 2002. thanks, laurie

That is a false statement. The truth is that the host has no reason to know
what generated your site files. Now if you need something more advanced like
asp.net, fpse, databases, etc., then you need to know if your host supports
that. But Pub generates html files and can load them to the host in
traditional ftp protocal or in http protocal (with fpse host support). Don't
ask your host anything*

* unless you want to have fpse support, in which case just check your plan.
