Issue with 2007 Journal, not recording docs from mapped network dr

I have the journal set to record documents, ie word, excel etc. It works
fine for documents on the local computer c: drive, but when I open a document
from a network, ie mapped network drive letter, it doesn't record the
document at all. Any ideas? I believe it use to work with network drives in
2003. Thanks in advanced!

Jack, Microsoft deliberately turned off the feature for tracking documents
over a network. I am on a one-person compaign (apparently) to get them to
re-enable this feature. This was learned during a support call to Microsoft.

Are we the only ones that noticed this. I have been yelling at my IT staff
about the lack of journal capability and then find out that Bill Gates did
it. Does anyone have a work around?

 

[Just wondering]

I thought I was doing something wrong when I couldn't get the journal entries
to work properly. I will be sending in a complaint.
