Issue with Automatic Calculation with Roll-up of Physical % Comple

I am having a issue with the automatic Roll-up calculation of Physical %
Complete. It sometimes does not calculate the Roll-up value properly. I
need to manually change each value for all the subtask to some other number,
then back to the original number to get the correct roll-up value. This can
be very annoying when I have many tasks to update manually. I tried
selecting the "Calculate Now" button in Tools->Options->Calculation dialog
box, but it does not work. Is there a way to automatically redue the
calculation for Roll-up of Physical % Complete. I am running Project
Standard 2003 with SP3.

% physical complete is rarely used as it is a purely manual way of entry for
scenarios where progress is not proportional to duration or work complete.
If 50% of duration has gone and the task is 50% complete, then % Duration
should be updated. If 50% of work has been done on an assignment and it's
50% complete then % work complete is what you should use.

In addition to setting the calculation mode to Automatic
(tools/options/Calculations), also verify all tasks have the same Earned
Value Type (insert EV Type column), costed resources assigned, valid
baseline, and status date (Project/Project Information)

If all the subtasks to a summary are milestones, the summary task will use
0-100%, it's a math thing.

The most common culprits are mixed EV types and tasks without costed
baselines.
