Issue with cell protection

Hi,
I have a problem with cell protection within a worksheet. All of the cells
can be locked and then protected. I apply the protection with a password and
none of the cells let me alter them except columns A though E. I am not sure
why- all of the formating is the same and they even have the lock flag
checked. Does anyone know how this could be happening?
