Issue with Task Start Dates

We are adding task to a project plan using PSI. After adding the tasks when
we open the project the task entered using PSI shows correct start and finish
date. But when we close and open the project again in Project Professional
the task dates changes to the start date of its parent task. :(

Thanks n Regards,

This is because there are actually two scheduling engines: PSI and Project
Professional. How are you setting the start date of the task? If you want it
to start on a specific date then you need to add a constraint to the task,
otherwise it will just get the start date from the parent task.

One additional step that we use is when we add a task using the PSI, when
then pull down the task via the PSI and check the results. In some cases you
may get things to stick if you apply the change again. However, in your case
I think that is the correct behavior and you need to add a constraint.
