issues downgrading from 2007 to xp

..I recently purchased a new laptop with a trial version of Office 2007
pre-installed. I uninstalled it successfully and installed XP, now I'm
getting an error when I open Outlook: "Unable to open your default email
folders. Could not open the item. Try again."

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
