Did Windows 95 or Windows XP survive? Yes, and they were both big jumps away
from the previous status quo. I see a lot of good in Vista and it will just
take getting over some growing pains and work on both the Microsoft side and
from the user base and it will be fine.

Your question belongs in a newsgroup addressing operating systems, probably
a USENET newsgroup, give the question. This one is for questions, answers,
and discussions about Microsoft Access database software.

FYI, every version of MS DOS "survived" and every version of MS Windows.
All previous ones have been superceded by newer versions, as Vista will
undoubtedly be. So, to me, your question does not make much sense.

Since 100+ million computers are running Vista, there is no question of its
survival. The question remains: Will it become the major OS successor to XP
Professional for business computers? I'm not so sure of that since many, if
not most businesses are waiting for the next version of Windows to come out.

That said Vista is a good OS, that just takes some getting used to. Asking
this question in a Vista newsgroup may bring you better answers.
