It would be much more helpful if Outlook allowed itself to be backed up (copy
the pst file) while it is open. I MUST leave outlook on overnight, otherwise
the amount of email I received clogs my system if I try to retrieve it all in
the morning. But if I leave it open, I get errors in my back up that tell me
the PST file was not backed up. So I have to choose between not using
outlook, or using it with NO BACKUP or shutting it down every night so it
WILL back up, but then struggling through trying to receive up to 700 pieces
of junk mail and 5 wanted emails the next morning. Can't Outlook allow
backing up of the pst file (I use Avantrix DVD Backup - they tell me it's a
microsoft issue) while Outlook is open or in use? Most other programs seem
to allow "shadow" copies. If Outlook can't, then I'll have to go back to
using Outlook Express and Palm Desktop to manage email and contacts and be
able to back both up. If I don't hear back from you, I'll assume there is no
fix and delete Outlook.
