Item did not appear in clipboard

Hi,

This might sound like a really silly question but I cut an item (text) which
was a case summary I did (so it's really important!), and then I cut another
item. Yet, the clipboard did not automatically open in the task panel to
show both items, and when I tried pasting and then opening the office
clipboard, the first item I had cut was nowhere to be found. I was just
wondering if anyone has a suggestion as to whether I might still be able to
retrieve the text that did not show up. Please respond as soon as possible.
Thank you.

First... you can press Ctrl+Z to immediately/repeatedly undo what you
deleted so you can recover the cut text. Always keep this in mind when
something doesn't do what you expect it to do.

On to your question...

If you're using Word 2003, display the Clipboard task pane, and click
Options at the bottom. Click to place a check next to Show Office Clipboard
When Ctrl+C Pressed Twice... as well as any other options you think you
might find useful. If Word 2002, then click the Options button, but you'll
have different choices. Make sure Show...Automatically is checked.
