Hi:
I have a system it has a 550 Ghz Pentem 3 cpu, 512MB memery,10GB hard drive,
it's running win 2000 pro. sp4, officce 2000 premium.
One of the problems is in outlook. outlook works as far as sending e-mail
the thing is that after sending it doesn't take the e-mail out of the outbox
and put it in the sent items box. i also can't delete mail in the sent box.
The error says that there is an error in the outlook.pst and to run inbox
repair tool.
A. there is no msmapi. exe where it should be only mapi I go there to the nt
folder and run the scan. It comes back after fininishing and says no errors
found. The problem remains.
B. I tryed coping the msmapi folder there it belongs but it doesn't run.
C. I've tryed to repair office prem. disk 1 no help. I've tryed tio
reinstall it from the repair box no help.
One thing I should point out is that I can't install the office sp1. There
is a windows installer problem I'll be posting that to the office discussion
group later.
Question: Can I delete the sent items.dbx using windows explorer and then
create a new sent items folder in outlook.
I know the easest way would be to reformat the drive and start over, but I
would like to find another wayif I can. I may come up this again in my
business and customers can't always back up there data and don't want to
start all over again.
Any help you can give me will be helpful.
