Ok i would like to know how to ping a server through
javascript, html, xml, whatever, and i would like to ping
the server on a certain port (ie 127.0.0.1:27960) and
then if that port is active, then i would like the web
page to tell the user that the server is up, but if the
port isnt active, i would like to have it say that the
server isn't up. anybody know how to do that? much
appreciated, Eric <[email protected]>

Simply hyperlink to the port http://www.yourdomain.com:27960 and have the hyperlink set to open a
new window.
