Jay Freedman AutoText Loader - Enlarged Screentips?

Last week I raised the question of whether a sound cue could be added when
an autotext screentip appeared so that I wouldn't have to try to watch the
screen out of the corner of my eye as I typed.

Since I used Jay Freedman's terrific autotext loader to add over 1,000
autotext entries for my particular needs (a daily newsletter), this would be
a welcome enhancement. Jay was kind enough to try to do this.

I wonder if, instead, the screentip box could be enlarged or altered in some
other way to provide a more apparent visual cue? Any thoughts Jay, or
anyone else? Thanks in advance.

Hi Alan,

I'm sorry, but the answer is the same as before: Word doesn't supply
the tools to do what you want. The tooltips are what they are, and
there's no facility for altering them. Because Word doesn't tell VBA
when it has recognized an AutoText entry, there's no way to make a
macro to do something else.

I wonder if a completely different mechanism might suit you. There's a
free utility called AutoHotKey (www.autohotkey.com) that works like
Word's AutoCorrect feature, except that it does only plain text. The
entries are stored in a text file, which is easier to maintain than
AutoCorrect. It works everywhere in Windows, not just in Word.
