I've been having corruption problems with my application
at work (about 10 users, back-end DB on server, front-end
on client PC's). I am now investigating software versions
to see if I can determine the problem. On the Microsoft
web site it states that Service Pack 8 is the latest
release of Jet 4.0. It also lists the file versions that
are included with that release.
I have checked one of the client PC's at work and discover
that 6 of the files listed in Microsoft's document have
NEWER version numbers on the client PC at work. For
example, Microsoft says that the latest version of
msjet40.dll should be 4.0.8015.0 and was released
10/15/03, however the version on the PC at work says
4.0.8618 with a file date of 3/1/04. I am assuming that
the Microsoft documentation is up-to-date, so can anyone
explain the discrepancy in my file versions?
I am dealing with an IT support department that is not the
most reliable so I'm guessing that they installed
something incorrectly. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.
