How Do I import a jpeg photo into a PP presentation? The
error message I get is that this file format is not
supported.

Insert > Picture > Picture from File should do it. However, what is the
source of the file and have you modified it outside of PowerPoint?

Insert/Picture/From File should do the trick. Is that what you're doing when
you receive the error message?
