Hello! New to the forums. I couldn't find an answer to this specific question, so here it is:

Whenever I attempt to print an Entourage email with an attachment (JPG or GIF) the attachment always prints out very, very small.

I have done a test in which I email myself a JPG attachment (sized at 8 1/2" x 11"). When I receive it and print it out, the size of the JPG decreases to about 1/4 of its originally size.

How do I maintain my original JPG attachment size when printing it out from an email in Entourage?

Thanks!

Just a thought...

Picture size is dependent on two things:

a) Dimensions (width x height)
b) Resolution (effectively the number of dots in the picture)

You may have stretched a very low resolution picture up to Letter size
but when your printer goes to print it then it's displaying all the
information that's available. Check your resolution too.

Also, make sure you printer driver and/or PPD is correct for your model
of printer. An update from the manufacturer may be available.

Hope this helps!

Bill,

Thanks! Good tips. However, I did not stretch my original JPG before attaching it. I created and saved the JPG at 8 1/2" x 11". Then, I attached it to an email and sent it to myself. When I received it, opened it and printed it, the size of the JPG attachment was reduced to about 1/4 of its original size.

I have sent emails with attachments to my printer via another email program, without issue. The same email printed out from Entourage produces the small JPG. This is why I concluded the settings in Entourage must be the cause. But I don't see anywhere under preferences to fix or change those particular settings (ie, "attachment size" or something similar).

Any more thoughts? I really appreciate it. Thanks again.

Are you expecting the image to print full size when printing the mail
message itself? In order to print the image within the message window
Entourage will have to do some resizing.

You've said the picture is printing at 1/4 original size but how well
does the image fit within the margins of the printed message?
