I have problem in Access 2002 with attaching jpg graphic objects to records
since one of the major updates to either Win or Office.
Corel Photopaint 7, even though no longer registereed as associated with
jpg, loads each time I attach a jpg graphic to a record. Then,
intermittently, an application error dialog pops up, saying it must close the
Photopaint application. The graphic attaches o.k., but the extra step is a
pain, and I believe photopaint is slowing Access down tremendously. It takes
forever to find a graphic in the file open dialog. Also, I may find several
instances of Photopaint open as a process after an Access session, without my
ever opening it. Event viewer doesn't really help, as it says I have an app
error.
Can anyone tell me if there is a registry item that sets the default graphic
app that opens when a graphic object is attached to a record? I think if it
used a new version of Photoshop instead of the older application, I may get
better results.
Any other ideas?
Many thanks,
Ron
