Jump to an application from within presentation

Using PP2002, WinXP.
Is it possible to place a hyperlink in one of the slides linked to an
application in the same hard drive and after using that application, to
return to the slide that it came from?
I attempted it and once I click the hyperlink it goes busy and does not
return the application.
If you suggest how to do it and it works, how do I exit the application and
return to the original slide?
If the application program resides in Program Files\Movie Maker\moviemk.exe,
should the hyperlink contain the above data?
I will appreciate your help.

Put some sort of object on your slide, right-click the object and click
"Action Settings", click the "Hyperlink to" dropdown, scroll down to and
select "Other File". Browse to the folder where the executable file resides
and select it. Depending on the type of object you assign the hyperlink to,
you might need to click the "Highlight Click" checkbox at the bottom left of
the Action Settings dialog box. This changes the pointer to a hand pointer
to show it has an action assigned to it (sort of a reminder during the Slide
Show). Keep in mind that this will open the dreaded "Virus warning..."
dialog box. Merely click to accept it and all will be fine. All you have
to do to return is to click the top right "X" in your window to close the
program and you return to your Slide Show.

If you want to learn about how to get rid of the warning dialog box, you can
