Junk e-mail list

Some of our internal mailboxes have email addresses in this form:
mailbox@internal

Recently these emails have been going to the Junk E-mail folder. How can I
add this to my safe sender list? Everytime I try to add, it says the format
of the email address is incorrect (must be something like
(e-mail address removed), etc.)

How can I resolve this?
thanks.

Addresses from within the same Exchange organization cannot be blocked or
white listed; they will always be accepted as they are internal and
therefore automatically trusted as safe.

Which versions of Exchange and Outlook are into play here?
Is filtering being done at Exchange level, Outlook level or both?
What changed since "recently"? Installed any Junk E-mail Filter updates?
Do all clients have these issues from these addresses?
Is there any other 3rd party mail or anti-malware suite involved here which
could have caused this?
