Junk folder disappeared!

Last week my junk email folder disappeared! The filter kept working, but I could not get to the folder! It is now back and I have no idea what happened. I didn't reboot or anything and typically leave my PC on all the time. It was gone for about a week and just now came back
My mail accounts are through an exchange server (if that makes any difference)
