I don't get an error message. Outlook just locks up. No, I Haven't run
"detect and rapair." (not sure how) The files aren't identical in size, but
they are all of the same title. (four are 27mb and three are 21mb.) I just
click on one and hit "delete." When I do, Outlook locks up and I have to
restart it.

What version of Outlook is this? If 2003, try right clicking on the Junk
Mail folder and select Empty.

Can you wait a little more time and let Outlook finish his job (delete the
mail)? By the way, and try not to do anything at the computer.
The bigger mail is, the more time it will take to "read" it and of course
delete it. My Outlook is doing the same thing, Just wait a little more, hope
it will work

Based on the size of the items you are trying to delete, I would just walk
away, get a cup of coffee or something and come back in 30 minutes. Items
that large can take a long time to delete.

I don't have any idea where they came from. We were gone overnight, and when
I came back, it took about an hour to finish receiving my email. When it
finished, these huge files were there.
I'll delete them again, but will let it work while I sleep.

I think there was an option to leave messages on server if they are greater
that XY kb. Is it in ms outlook or oe?
