Just Installed Outlook 2003

and now I get the popup "Microsoft LDAP Directory" every
single time... any way to get rid of it?

Are we to assume you aren't using an LDAP?
Then why don't you remove it and replace it with the Outlook Address Book?
Go to Tools | E-mail accounts, select "View or change existing directories
or address books"
