Justification for Word 97 doc in Word 2000

I'm finding that when I insert margin changes in a
document (1st and 2nd page margins being different), the
last line of the document before the break is not
justified. It is justified while in Word 2000 in normal
view but when viewing this in preview as well as when
printed out, it is not justified. Normally, in Word 97,
the line shortens because of char. spacing and I am able
to add spaces to justify the line, but you can see this in
Word 97, where you cannot in a later Word program.

Is there a patch that can be used with later versions of
Word 97 where these versions can act like Word 97? I do
have my attributes set to Word 97.

I'm not sure if I completely understand what you're trying to do, but
since no one else has replied, let me take a shot...

Click on Tools | Options | Compatibility. In "Recommended Options for:"
dialog, select "Microsoft Word 97". In the "Options" dialog, scroll
down to "Don't expand character spaces on the line ending Shift+Return",
and check the box at the left if it isn't already checked. Does that
fix the problem?

Oops, what I meant to say was to UNcheck the box for "Don't expand..."
if it is checked.
