KB-928218 No Good - Can't uninstall Office 2007 Trial

I had installed the Office Professional 2007 alongside my Office 2002
install (on XP home).

When I tried to uninstall the trial through "add/remove programs", I got the
msg about "the language of this installation package ...".

I tried following KB article 928218, but had the following problems (so far):

Step 2.6 - uninstalling .msi files - I could uninstall all the Office 2007
files except the one whose subject is "Microsoft Office Professional 2007";
trying to uninstall this causes the hard drive to run for a few moments, but
the msi remains and no error message occurs.

I then proceeded through Step 2 -- Office Source Engine was not running

Step 3.2 I can delete the "source engine" folder. But not the "Office12"
folder. I get an access denied msg for file MSOXMLMF.DLL. Other files are
not deleted either. This access denied occurs even after re-boot.

At this point I stopped proceeding through 928218's instructions.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you ever get the Office 2007 Pro uninstalled? I too am experiencing
problems getting it removed. If you figured it out, I'd appreciate knowing
how you did it. Thanks.

Doug-

I had a little bit of luck, but not a complete solution.

A day or two later, I was able to delete the Office12 folder (step 3.2) and
proceed forward from there (through all the remaining steps in the KB
article). This MAY be because I went into task manager, to the processes tab
and stopped all the processes I could recognize as being expendable.

I still have the "Microsoft Office Professional 2007" .msi in my installers
folder. Choosing uninstall (per step 2.6) ony causes my hard drive to run
momentarily (as before). I have not deleted the .msi file in case I hear
anything further.

At least I am back to the point where all relevant files (xls, etc.) are
associated with (open with) the right Office 2002 application.
