KB951808 install issues

So my XP Pro is keeps trying to install the Office 2007 security update
(KB951808) and it keeps failing, but won't tell me why. This is happening on
my homemade PC, as well as my Sony notebook. Is this a global failing? How
do I find out why the update is failing so I can fix it? Any feedback is
appreciated!

Update installed fine on 5000 plus workstations I take care of, so I think
you are just seeing an isolated incident. In any event, have you tried
downloading/applying the update manually?

By the way, I was about to suggest uninstalling/reinstall the product, but
this update applies to Office 2007 as well as the compatibility pack.

Well I doubt that its terribly isolated since it occurred on BOTH my
frankenstein desktop AND my Sony VAIO with stock XP Pro on it... but [shrug]
Whatever... I uninstalled and reinstalled office 2007 on the desktop and
haven't see the issue crop back up after other updates are run..

I'm having trouble running XP service pack 3 update now, but that's a
separate issue [sigh]
