KeepConn

I want to keep a connection open to the back end tables to improve
speed with which it opens or accesses data. I was told that the
"KeepConn" in a table will accomplish that. Is that correct? How do
I implement?

I realize this is very basic for most of you but would appreciate a
response. Thanks.
