Keep'g notification on in Outlook

Every time I, and my clients, exit Outlook, the
TOOLS/OPTIONS/PREFERENCES/E MAIL OPTIONS "Display
notification message when new mail arrives" un-checks
itself. I am on Win 2000, others are on Win XP. How can
I keep it on permenantly?
