Keeping the same "view"

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Intel I have read the previous FAQs about how to find the "last edited" spot, and since I am using Word 2004, the works for me when I re-open a long manuscript. But, is there any way to get the document to open in the same view? i.e., I use "page width," but every time I reopen not only does the program begin at the top of the document (not where I was working), but also in "whole page" view. And it's a pain to have to go through the steps of resetting to "page width."

Any suggestions?

Word documents typically reopen at the Zoom which was in effect as of the
time the document was last edited & then saved... IOW, some change to the
content or formatting must be made before saving & closing the file. If that
isn't happening for you please indicate your exact current update levels for
both Office as well as OS X.
