New keyboard or at least try a different one....

Thank you for replying so promptly. Actually, it wasn't the keyboard.
This is what I ended up doing: I deleted the following registry key (with
Word closed)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data

Now the keyboard is working again. (I have Windows Vista)
