keyboard works only in safe mode

When I start the computer in safe mode (not yet tried "word safe-mode"
the keyboard works fine. All applications not part of the office 1
suite work great.

any idea what might be loading that is causing this? I hav
thouroughly (I believe) cleaned out the RUN and STARTUP folders fo
windows. I have also run a virus scan and spybot with the newes
updates.

It's out there....but what is it?

your help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried "word safe mode" and was still unable to type. Since I can us
word in Windows Safe Mode I am guessing that the problem is loaded a
the time of boot rather than when Word starts.

So my question now is...what is running that is preventing Word fro
running correctly.

I also checked the office updates site and all is current.
