keystrokes missing when typing email

S

shell

I have a user who says that at random times (not always), he will be typing
an email and not all of his keystrokes appear in the message. He can copy
the text to a new email and then all the characters appear. He is using HTML
format in Outlook 2003. We even thought it could be his wireless keyboard
(we replaced the batteries), but that wasn't the case. Has anyone else seen
this?

Does it happen if he uses plain text format? It sounds like the missing
letter might be getting changed to the same color as the message background,
which hides them.

I'm experiencing this problem too. It does not depend on the key being hit, but seems to occur with all keys. My guess is that keyboard focus is being temporarily diverted by some other process inside Outlook. I have disabled the predictive typing, but I wonder if that is a contributing factor?
