KL: Unable to enter task time

C

Cleo

I have a project manager that logs in and is unable to enter her time
in the daily timesheet. My team leader can log in his time but can't
view the projects. Can anyone help?

Thanks Cleo, can your PM see the tasks in his timesheet, but cant enter it,
or cant he actually not see the tasks?

if he cant see that tasks, the first thing I would do is double check if the
PM is actually assinged to the task in the Projects. Only then he is able to
see the task on his timesheet and can enter the time against it.

Let me know.
Thanks

Yes, the PM can see her tasks. I double checked the assignment so it's
isn't that. What about the team leader not being able to view his
projects he is assigned to? When he clicks on Projects in the upper
toolbar, it won't give him access. Does he need to be a Project
Manager to view his projects that he is on?

Hi Cleo,

Generally you can set up the Project Server permission to suite your work
process. If you would like the team leader to see the project of the PM he is
in charge of, than you can set it up this way.

I am not certain how your security is set up at this moment and therefore I
am not able to give you advice on your situation, but what I can tell you is
that you are able to set up the security to what ever suites you.

May I suggest that you involve either a specialist who can support you on
site, or get a book on project Server ( check out the Implementing and
Amdinsitring Microsoft Project Server 2007 by Gary Chefetz and dale Howard ).
This will give you insight of what you can achieve with security.

I am sorry that I am not able to get deeper in your configuration, but the
matter of security is to hughe to cover in a discussion group.

Thanks
