In ac2007 how do I prevent access from anchoring labels to fields??!!
There doesn't seem to be any easy way.

Maybe I should have specified, in design view how
to "unanchore" a lable form it's parent field.

Ah, different question entirely (afaik there is no way to prevent the
"anchoring" from occuring in the first place).

Don't know about 2007, but in earlier versions:

- Select the label
- Cut it
- click an empty spot on the form (to be sure no controls are
active/selected)
- paste it

If you want do the exact opposite ('attach' an independent label to an
existing textbox that doesn't have a label), cut the label and then select
the desired textbox before pasting.

That's the problem. I can't select the label by itself. If I try
to delete the label the label and the field both get deleted.

If you want to select the label alone you have to click the label (even if
the textbox is attachted to it) and then go to the tab [Arrange] -> choose
"Remove" from the 'Control Layout' group. This will split you label and
textboxes.
