label points on an XY graph

Eric

Please add the ability to label points in an XY graph. This feature was
available in the very first release of Lotus 123 in used back in 1984. The
add in "XY lChart abeler" works okay, but is very slow with large data sets
and does not work well when the data is modified (e.g. it does not adjust
when a row is deleted).

HI Eric,

As I remember, when Lotus 123 was released in 1984, it had no charting
capability at all. We used an external program to build charts (Harvard
Graphics?). Lotus did not add charts until 1989 or 91. Excel had them in
1990 - can't remember if charts were available before then.

Hi Eric,

Whoops, you are, of course, correct. I based my answer on my own
recollections of using Lotus 1-2-3. Strangely, I do not recall making use of
1-2-3s graphics capabiliites, but do remember using Harvard Graphics
extensively.
I’m pretty sure that being able to graph within the main program was
the main difference between Visicalc and Lotus 123. According to this

it was a feature of Lotus in 1983. This was a great boon to me, because
