Labels - Centering

Kristin

Does anyone know how to center labels after a merge. I
merge my labels with a list and it's fine. The only
problem is that the address rests at the top of the label
and usually gets cut off. I have to manually go in and
delete the botton line. I want every label to be centered
so I don't run into this.

This should be happening automatically, since the versions of Word that
permit vertical centering in table cells (Word 97 and above) also format
labels as centered by default. But when you're setting up the mail merge
main document, select the entire sheet and right-click, then choose Vertical
Alignment: Center Vertically. (If this isn't on the shortcut menu for the
entire table (I think I added it to mine), the only way I know of to
accomplish it (since the command doesn't appear on the Table or Format menu)
is to format a single cell, then select the entire table and F4.

For some reason when using the mail merge wizard, chosing labels and
bringing up the label page, there are paragraphs in each label. Before I
do anything else, I delete all the paragraph marks by replacing ^p with
nothing and replacing all. I don't know why this happens, but it is
really annoying.

Yes, now that you mention it, I remember this. I guess this is why I create
all my label merges from scratch.
