When I go into envelopes/labels in Word 2002 there is an option for New
Document (where you physically see the label boxes) to whatever label I have
selected. For some unknown reason, the "label boxes" have disappeared. How
can I get those back.

Labels are just templates with tables fixed to match the label sheet. You
have toggled off the gridlines option under the Tables menu.
