I have another purpose for making labels accessed via tools in Word 2008. So sometimes I need to cut and paste into the box but I can't seem to be ab le to do that. Is there any way?

You "can't seem to be able to do that" because you're relying on the
convenience of the Paste button
That as - well as the main menu - are
typically unusable when in dialog windows.
Copy the content and when you go to Tools> Labels Control-Click in the
Address field & select the Paste command from the contextual menu or use the
keystroke Command(Apple)+V.
