Morning I install dcdiag, netdiag tool on my 2000 server DC, and ran these
two tools on server, didn't find major issue.
But now I got problem to access LAN connection, ( I mean I am unable to
access the LAN properties if I want check the LAN configuration or change
some setting), I tried the following step:
1. Right click my Network places and select properties from the destop, then
no response
2. From Start menu--->settings---->network and dial up connection, then
hang up, no response, and the menu also hang up, but u can still access other
resource such as my computer, IE, etc.
3. press Ctrl+Alt+Del, select Cancel, return to windows, start menu still in
dead status, other resources are accessable.
4. press Ctrl+Alt+Del, select logoff, then login domain, everythings ok.
5. Tried to access LAN properties from Control panel, also encounter the
some error as step 2.
6. Check system Log, no log on this.
7. Check directory service log, found below warning event:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: NTDS KCC
Event Category: (1)
Event ID: 1265
Date: 17-08-2005
Time: 2:36:22 PM
User: N/A
Computer: IASVRFP
NTDS KCC 1265
failed with the following status:
The DSA operation is unable to proceed because of a DNS lookup failure.
The record data is the status code. This operation will be retried.
Data:
0000: 4c 21 00 00 L!..
8. Ran dcdiag /test:replications, echo successful info.
9. Ran dcdiag/ test:registerindns /dnsdomain <domain name>, gave the follow
info:
Starting test: RegisterInDNS
DcDiag cannot reach a conclusive result because it cannot interpret the
following message that was returned: 9003.
......................... iasvrfp failed test RegisterInDNS
Note: the server is running correctly, can ping from any other client, also
can access internet.
Where is the problem and how to solve it?????
Urgently look for specialist's help, many thanks in advance.
