Somehow although I want English to be my default
language, French and Spanish frequently creeps in, which
is frustrating to me. When I go to "Tools"
and "Language" English, French and Spanish have a check
mark on them. I don't know how that happened.
How can I uncheck French and Spanish, so that I only have
the English language?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

This is usually because the Keyboard language in the Control Panel is
incorrectly set, but it may be because of documents they you are opening
from elsewhere or even emails if you use Word as your email editor in
Outlook. We need some more info on what versions of everything you are
running though. Other than tell us which languages you can see, you haven't
even acknowledged that you are talking about WORD?

The check marks are a red herring. They merely indicate that the proofing
tools for those languages are installed (the English version of Word comes
with proofing tools for several varieties of French and Spanish as well as
several flavors of English). The language you have set as the default will
be the one listed at the top and highlighted. This is set from Control
Panel | Regional Options. In order to prevent Word from switching languages
on you, clear the check box for "Detect language automatically."
