You can use Equation Editor to do this (Insert > Object > Microsoft Equation
Editor; if it isn't there, you'll need to rerun the Office installer, do a
custom install, and choose it from Office Tools). Alternatively, you can
draw brackets with the line tool from the Drawing toolbar.

Although you can sort of do it with a 3-column borderless table (center
column for the text, left & right for the brackets), if you use a large
enough type size to cover 3 lines, then the brackets will be so thick that
they'll look odd. The Equation Editor compensates for this effect
automatically.

Display the Drawing toolbar. There are sizable large brackets on the
AutoShapes > Basic Shapes sub menu. Get your text right first, then position
your brackets as floating graphics over the top. Depending on what you're
doing, it might be easier to put the text into a borderless textbox, then
group the textbox and brackets to create a single object.
