Large OST File

T

TheScullster

Hi all

Can anyone explain this for me please?
Outlook 2003 via Exchange server 2003.
User had public folder favourites set to download a few large folders.
Also he had copied some large folders to his mailbox.
Having stopped the public folder download and deleted all irrelevant
folders, the size of his OST file is still at 6.2Gb!

Anyone know why?

TIA

Because it's a database and truncation doesn't occur directly. Outlook will
automatically truncate it when the computer is idle and when the amount of
whitespace in the ost-file is more than 5%.
